Making Alice in Wonderland Desserts

For as long as I can remember, I've loved Alice in Wonderland. It started with the Disney movie — the scene with the flowers was always my favorite — and then later on I read the book. The idea of escaping into a magical world is just too fun to pass on so I've always had an affinity for the story. And since turning things I like into desserts is kind of what I do, it was only a matter of time until Alice in Wonderland got the treat-ment (get it?). Ok, that was awful, but I couldn't resist it! Maybe you can take some of these ideas and make your own Alice in Wonderland themed tea party at home!...

There's definitely crying in baking

It was 5:30 am on Sunday morning and I was in the bathroom, sitting on the floor crying. Not my brightest moment, I must admit, but I want to share it with you anyway because I think we can all learn something from it. What Happened That Sunday I was scheduled to have a pop up event at a local coffee shop. People had been preordering their treats all week and they were especially excited about the vegan donuts I had been advertising. It took me years to figure out how to make vegan donuts that tasted just like the real deal and I couldn’t wait to share them with my customers. I made donuts all week long as practice....

Hosting a Harry Potter Themed Pop Up

This should come as a secret to absolutely no one but I'm a huge Harry Potter dork! So for Harry Potter's birthday I decided to partner with a local bookshop and wine store here in St. Pete called Book + Bottle (which you should totally check out if you haven't already, by the way. I'd like to think it's the kind of place Hermoine where would hang out) and do a Harry Potter themed pop up. Curious Cat Bakery brought the themed desserts (from peanut butter cookie dough golden snitches to Deathly Hallows cookie sandwiches), Book + Bottle brought the butterbeers and a Harry Potter inspired wine tasting, and you guys brought wands, themed shirts, masks (sigh, 2020) and a whole...
